Courage is the ability to overcome fear
For a “normal” man to routinely jump headfirst off skyscrapers, to dodge gunfire from multiple armed opponents, to get into fistfights with people who can smash planets, you’d have to assume he’s either crazy, reckless or in Batman’s case, the most courageous person on the planet.
Now, courage happens to be the specialty of one other hero: the Green Lantern. It has often been wondered, what would happen if Batman were given Green Lantern’s ring, and thus had the power to use willpower to alter reality. The consensus is summed up in this great image below.

Gotham’s Dark Guardian
Alex Ross gives us Batman’s impressive gargoyle-eye view of Gotham City. It’s easy to see how Batman can patrol an entire city from his perch high in the sky. Just hope those bat-lines hold!
Vicki Vale
Victoria “Vicki” Vale is a socialite / tabloid journalist / television personality best known for being a sometime love interest for Bruce Wayne. She was originally modelled on a young Marilyn Monroe, but in the modern era is most usually depicted as a standard curvaceous redhead. She was introduced as a Bat counterpart for Superman’s Lois Lane. Unlike Miss Lane however, Vicki Vale is much more persistent in trying to prove the connection between Bruce Wayne and Batman, leading to many outlandish efforts by the Batman family to keep her at bay.
Batman and the Gray Ghost
The Gray Ghost episode of Batman: The Animated Series was a tribute to actor Adam West and the deeply influential 1960s Batman television show he starred on. Much as West was forever typecast as the campy Batman he played, Simon Trent could not shake his portrayal of the Gray Ghost. By the end of the episode, Trent gains vindication when he discovers that his performance directly inspired Batman in his youth. By casting both Adam West in the role of the Gray Ghost and himself as a crazed fan recreating one of the Gray Ghost’s episodes, series producer Bruce Timm ensured that the autobiographical homage would be paid in person.
“As a kid, I used to watch you with my father. The Gray Ghost was my hero.” Thank you Adam West. We Batfans salute you.
Batman and Robin’s Day Off
Batman and Robin have terribly hectic lives, being international playboys by day, and fighting crime deep into the night. It’s nice to see Commissioner Gordon give them get the day off once in awhile. Although I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t actually condone drinking and driving, when they could always get Alfred to pick them up.

ArtGerm gives us another demonic looking Batman with tree trunk thick neck and enormous shoulders. Just imagine being confronted by this creature in the middle of the night.
The Return of Bruce Wayne
Bruce Wayne has finally returned from his gallivant through time and ‘death’ at the hands of Darkseid. In a world that has adapted to (and in fact, flourished despite) his death, the new status quo will be that Dick and Damian will continue to operate as the Batman and Robin of Gotham, while Bruce will operate globally, training a new Batman for every city, under the new Batman Incorporated aegis.
Writer Grant Morrison has already given us a Batman without Bruce Wayne (the vicious, brutal Batman of Zur en Arrh), and he has said that this new era will introduce how billionaire capitalist Bruce Wayne would fight crime, without a Batman. Still we are sure to have plenty of opportunity to see Bruce in the cowl, with his new all gray bodysuit along with the return of the yellow oval behind his Bat symbol.
